Revolutionary, patented drive lugs that replaces broken, worn out, torn off and delaminated rubber drive lugs on non-metal core rubber tracked machines and small compact loaders.
Each lug comes with two 3" inch button head bolts and washers. Lugs are counter sunk into the rubber and will not scratch concrete or asphalt. Lugs can be installed in the field or shop in ten minutes or less without removing the track.
If numerous lugs are being installed at one time, the track can be removed for faster installation. Install instructions are included in every order
DRIVE LUG REPLACEMENT DIRECTIONS
If this is your fist time replacing lugs, we strongly recomend purchasing the "Lug Kit". The kit includes specialty tools to aid in installation.
(Tools Not Included but needed for installation: 1/2 Drill Bit, 5/16 Hex Bit)
1. To replace a broken lug, the track does not need to be removed from the rails, nor does the track tension need to be loosened. If possible, park the machine on timbers or something similar to elevate the loader up off the ground 10 to 18 for the side that is being repaired. If unable, it is not necessary.
2. Using a 4 carbide grinding wheel (included in kit), grind off the excess rubber from the existing broken lug on the inside of the track until you have a flat surface for the new lug to set on. Do not grind into the Kevlar belt. If you have more than one lug to replace, you can prepare five to six lugs before turning the track.
3. Place the Drill Template (included in kit) on the track and center it. Use a 1/2 drill bit, precisely drill at 90 degrees into the tread. Do not over-drill the hole in size.
4. Hand start the bolt a minimum four full turns first. Start the second screw using an air impact wrench. Alternate tightening bolts a little at a time until the head of the screw is embedded into the rubber track 3/16-1/4 deep.
NOTES:
**Do not over torque, stripping may occur. The bolt may extend through the lug up to 3/8, if greater cut the excess off using a cutoff wheel or grinder. Do not use a torch. **If lugs are installed out of square, they will still work, but they will clatter and bind on the drive rollers. They will wear in however, additional stress the drive roller bolts will occur. Same is true for lug spacing.
**If bottom rollers have excessive wear, the new lugs will make contact with the bottom rear of the frame and may bind as it passes around. They will still work, but excessive wear will occur on the lug only.
REPLACEMENT LUGS ARE REUSEABLE! They are not just a One-Time Fix. If the track belt has been destroyed or becomes unusable, unbolt your Replacement Lugs and reuse them on a different track.
